TIM REID, an actor, producer, director
and writer, became a household name and face when he starred as "Venus
Flytrap", on the popular CBS Television series, "WKRP
in Cincinnati" from 1978 1982.
As an award-winning actor on series such
as "Franks Place"
and "Snoops",
in which he co-starred with his wife, Daphne
Maxwell Reid, he segued into writing and producing his own material
for some of those shows. He received producing nods as a nominee for
the Cable Ace Awards and the Producers Guild Awards for the Family
Channel/BET movie "Race
to Freedom: The Underground Railroad."
For his critically acclaimed feature film,
"Once
Upon a Time
When We Were Colored," he received producing
recognition as "Best in Show" by the Houston International
Film Festival and he also won the "Directorial Award" from
the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival.
In 1997, Reid founded New
Millennium Studios, Virginias first full-service motion picture
studio. "Asunder" marks the first feature film to be shot
on the studio lot.
Reid recently co-created, co-wrote, co-executive
produced and directed for the Showtime series, "Lincs,"
which was also shot at New Millennium Studios. Reid can be seen starring
in the WB television show "Sister,
Sister."
Reid, born in Norfolk, Virginia, graduated
from Norfolk State University in 1968 with a B. S. in Business/Marketing.
